Tottenham is in talks to sign strikers David Villa and Leandro Damiao from Barcelona and Brazil’s Internacional, respectively, the Daily Mail reported.
Villa would cost Spurs about 10 million pounds ($15.1 million) and Damiao 18 million pounds, according to the Mail.
Jose Mourinho is planning to bring Rui Faria with him to Chelsea as his assistant coach, the Sun reported.
Faria, 37, will also leave Real Madrid next week to follow Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge, the newspaper added. They’ve worked together since teaming up at Portugal’s Leiria in 2001 when Faria became fitness coach, the Sun said.
Andrey Arshavin could return to Zenit St. Petersburg after his Arsenal contract ended, the Daily Mirror reported.
The Russian attacking midfielder, who turns 32 tomorrow, has also had offers from Fenerbahce, Major League Soccer and the Middle East, the Mirror said.
Hughes to Stoke
Mark Hughes is the leading contender to become Stoke City’s manager, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Hughes is expected to agree to a 12-month contract amid opposition from Stoke fans, the Telegraph said.
Fulham is arranging to hire Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano on loan, the Daily Mail reported.
The France international has struggled to settle at Marseille since joining from Lorient in 2011, the Mail said.
