Canada Police to Announce Terrorism-Related Arrests Today

Canadian police said they will hold a press conference to discuss a “national security criminal investigation” at 3:30 p.m. in Toronto. Police will say there have been terrorism-related arrests, according to the prime minister’s office.

The press conference was announced by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Carl Vallee, spokesman for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, confirmed by e-mail terrorism related arrests will be announced.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported earlier that there is no connection to the attack in Boston last week, citing unnamed security officials. A call to the RCMP wasn’t immediately returned.
