Knicks Defeat Celtics 85-78 in First Game of Their NBA Playoffs

The New York Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics 85-78 to take a 1-0 lead in their National Basketball Association best-of-seven playoff series.

In the second Eastern Conference game today, the Brooklyn Nets host the Chicago Bulls.

Carmelo Anthony scored 36 points to rally the Knicks from a 53-49 halftime deficit on their home court at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks held the Celtics to eight points in the fourth quarter.

Jeff Green led the Celtics with 26 points.
