White House Menu, South Beach Shades, Guston’s Pink Shoe

Since the 1970s, James Turrell has been using the Roden Crater, an extinct volcano in Arizona’s Painted Desert, for an unusual work of art.

The show “Roden Crater and Autonomous Structures,” at Pace Gallery’s midtown location, features six beautifully realized bronze-and-plaster models of different spaces inside the crater. There are also photographs, including an aerial shot taken from the artist’s plane.
