Japanese Sold Net 1144.9 Billion Yen Overseas Debt Last Week

Japanese investors were net sellers of foreign bonds during the week ended April 5 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.

Japanese investors sold 1144.9 billion yen ($11.5 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, bought 6.3 billion yen in overseas stocks and bought 75.5 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net sale of 1063.1 billion yen.

Foreign investors bought 463.6 billion yen in Japanese bonds, bought 868.6 billion yen in stocks, and bought 2429.8 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 3762 billion yen.
