Kerry Starts Nine-Day Global Trip With Turkey Meetings

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel April 6 to Istanbul to meet with Turkish officials on Syria and other issues, the State Department announced.

Turkey is the first stop on a nine-day trip, followed by travel to Jerusalem on April 7 to begin a three-day Middle East stop that includes meetings with Israeli and Palestinian Authority leaders, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said in a statement released today.

After a meeting with the Group of Eight foreign ministers in London on April 10-11, Kerry is to travel to Seoul on April 12, Beijing on April 13 and Tokyo on April 14. The top U.S. diplomat is scheduled to return to Washington from Japan on April 15.
