Kerry Says North Korean Rhetoric Is ‘Unacceptable’

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said today that North Korea’s rhetoric in the past few days was “unacceptable” and the U.S. was “perfectly clear” it would defend itself and its ally, South Korea.

“We’ve heard an extraordinary amount of unacceptable rhetoric from the North Korean government in the past few days,” Kerry told reporters after meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung Se in Washington. “So let me be perfectly clear here today. The United States will defend and protect ourselves and our treaty ally, the Republic of Korea.”
