Romania Utility Awards Water Contract to Italian Company

The Romanian utility Cia de Apa Oltenia SA awarded a 36.1 million-lei ($11 million) contract for water-treatment plant improvements to the Italian construction company Ercole Marelli Impianti Tecnologici SpA.

The utility received six bids for the contract, which includes upgrading a water-treatment plant in the southern town of Isalnita, according to a European Union notice. The bid was initially valued at 40.8 million lei, according to the notice.
