Wichita State Eliminates Gonzaga 76-70 From NCAA Tournament

Gonzaga University, the top seed in the West region, fell to ninth-seeded Wichita State 76-70 in the national men’s basketball tournament.

Gonzaga was the first No. 1 seed to be eliminated in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament.

Reserves Ron Baker and Cleanthony Early each had 16 points for Wichita State (28-8), which had a 36-31 halftime lead in Salt Lake City.

Wichita State advances to the regional semifinal against the winner of tomorrow’s game between La Salle and Mississippi.
