JDR, Principle Power Win U.K. Funds to Curb Offshore Wind Costs

The U.K. government awarded 2.3 million pounds ($3.5 million) to companies including JDR Cable Systems Ltd. and Principle Power Inc. for technologies that drive down the cost of producing offshore wind power.

The government also invited companies to apply for a further 4 million pounds of funding under the Offshore Wind Component Technologies Development and Demonstration program, it said today in an e-mailed statement. High Voltage Partial Discharge Ltd. also won funds in today’s award, according to the statement.
