Iceland’s Sigfusson Resigns as Chairman of Left Green Party

Iceland’s Industry Minister Steingrimur J. Sigfusson is resigning as chairman of the Left Green Party, he told reporters in Reykjavik today. • Sigfusson said he intends to continue as a lawmaker after he stands down

NOTE: Sigfusson’s party is the junior member of Iceland’s minority coalition government, which came into power in 2009. Icelanders head to the polls on April 27.
