RCN Says Three Gran Tierra Workers Kidnapped in Colombia

Guerrillas from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC kidnapped three contractors working for Gran Tierra Energy Inc. in Colombia’s Cauca province, RCN Radio said, citing a local government official.

Gran Tierra is a Calgary-based oil producer, with operations in Colombia and Argentina. The company has early stage exploration operations in Cauca, according to a presentation on their website.

Chief Executive Officer Dana Coffield declined to comment when contacted by phone.
