Chilean Stock Movers: Cap, CCU, Concha & Toro and Vapores

The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close in Santiago.

The Ipsa index fell 0.3 percent to 4,413.41. The MSCI Chile index dropped 0.9 percent to 2,412.98.

Cap SA (CAP CC) slid 1.3 percent to 18,853 pesos, the steepest drop in a week. Chile’s largest iron miner and steel producer retreated in line with base metals.

Cia. Cervecerias Unidas SA (CCU CC) dropped 0.8 percent to 6,427.2 pesos. Chile’s largest brewer said second-quarter volume sales rose 7.3 percent from a year earlier. Volume sales in Argentina fell 10.4 percent from a year earlier.

Cia. Sud Americana de Vapores SA (VAPORES CC), Chile’s largest container shipping company, fell 1.9 percent to 61.65 pesos. The Shanghai (Export) Containerized Freight Index fell 2.6 percent in the past week.

Vina Concha & Toro SA (CONCHA CC), Chile’s largest wine exporter, rose 1.5 percent to 987.99 pesos, the highest since May 14. Chile’s bottled wine exports grew 12 percent in May from a year earlier, wine exporters association Vinos de Chile said in a statement.
