Musa Plans $1.4 Billion Mexico Solar Farm to Cut Power Costs

Grupo Musa, a Mexican industrial conglomerate, is developing a $1.4 billion solar project in Baja California to reduce the company’s power bills.

The first 50 megawatts of capacity are expected to begin generating electricity next year, said Nancy Hartsoch, vice president of marketing and business development for SolFocus Inc., which is providing the panels. The plant will eventually reach 450 megawatts and will be completed by 2016, the San Jose, California-based solar company said today in a statement.
