Russian Central Bank’s Deputy Chairman Resigns, Vedomosti Says

Gennady Melikyan, the first deputy chairman of Russia’s central bank, said he’s stepping down, Vedomosti reported today.

Melikyan’s job includes monitoring the fiscal health of the biggest banks, including Bank of Moscow, which is receiving a record $14 billion bailout after state-run VTB Group agreed to buy it.
