Gbagbo Withdrew EU150 Million From Central Bank, Ouattara Says

The Central Bank of West African States has paid out 150 million euros ($202 million) to the government of Ivory Coast’s incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo since Dec. 24, contrary to its own rules, rival President-elect Alassane Ouattara said.

The Dakar, Senegal-based central bank said on Dec. 24 it would only deal with people approved by Ouattara, the internationally recognized winner of a Nov. 28 presidential election. Gbagbo has refused to step aside.
