EU Lawmakers Ask for Inquiry on Former Croatian Prime Minister

Three European Union lawmakers asked the European Anti-Fraud Office to investigate allegations that former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader used a slush fund to pay lobbyists in Brussels.

Sweden’s Goran Farm, Britain’s Richard Howitt and Belgium’s Veronique De Keyser asked for the office to liaise with the Croatian authorities over reported testimony by former Sanader ally Mladen Barisic, Farm’s office said today in an e-mailed statement.
