U.S. Nuclear Energy Output Falls as NextEra Shuts Florida Plant

U.S. nuclear output fell as NextEra Energy Inc. shut the St. Lucie 2 reactor in Florida, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission reported.

Production from U.S. plants dropped by 564 megawatts from yesterday to 97,192 megawatts, or 96 percent of capacity, according to the report today from the NRC and data compiled by Bloomberg. Four of 104 power reactors were offline.
