United Nations carbon credits rose the most in almost four weeks after the ICE Futures Europe exchange proposed that offsets used for settlement against its contracts must comply with European trading rules.
UN Certified Emission Reductions for March 2013 rose 8.8 percent to 11.09 euros a metric ton on ICE today. Volume was almost 1.8 million tons. The contract for December 2011 increased 1.5 percent to 11.40 euros, recovering from a more than eight-month low of 11.13 euros earlier today.
