Irish Ruling Party Drops to Lowest-Ever Support Level, Poll Says

Ireland’s ruling Fianna Fail party has dropped to the lowest level of support ever as it prepares to make a formal application for a bailout from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, the Sunday Business Post reported.

The poll of 1,000 people by Red C, published today, showed 17 percent of respondents support Fianna Fail, a decline of 1 percentage point from the previous month, the newspaper said. Support for the main opposition party, Fine Gael, rose 1 percentage point to 33 percent, while the Labour Party was unchanged at 27 percent, according to the report.
