Missing Corot Found by Fifth Avenue Doorman, NYT Reports

A missing painting by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot turned up in the bushes of New York’s Fifth Avenue.

A doorman at 995 Fifth Ave., near 81st Street, said he discovered the painting on July 29, according to the New York Post and New York Times. The painting was lost hours earlier by an intoxicated courier, James Carl Haggerty, according to a lawsuit by a woman who said she was its co-owner, Kristyn Trudgeon.
