Centrotherm Boosts Efficiency, Cuts Cost With New Silicon Cell

Centrotherm Photovoltaics AG said it boosted the efficiency and cut the production costs of a solar cell used to make panels for electricity generation.

Using an improved process with a crystallization furnace, Centrotherm was able to increase the amount of peak watts generated by a solar panel to 236 watts from current levels of about 210 watts, the company said in a statement on the euro adhoc news wire.
