Legislation to limit U.S. greenhouse gas emissions may be released as soon as next week without the Republican lawmaker who helped write the measure, Senator Joseph Lieberman said.

“We can’t wait any longer,” Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, told reporters in Washington today. Lieberman and Massachusetts Democrat John Kerry have been working to revamp stalled climate-change legislation with Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican.
