Lead with a Beginner's Mind
Each new day brings many chances to learn, and these opportunities are often hidden in plain sight. In this, children can be our teachers. Absent of preconception or judgment, the child simply asks, "What is that?" He engages with an ordinary object with great gusto. He bangs on it, talks to it, holds it up close, and imagines it to be something else—delighting in discovery. It’s this relentless quest, this beginner’s mind, that can teach us to look at the ordinary and tap into its full potential. Challenge yourself to remove the "I already know what’s in front of me" hat, and you may find the many new insights and answers hiding in your day.
