Treasuries Mostly Higher
S&P MARKETSCOPE (7:07 a.m. ET): The 2-year notes flat at 100-23/32 for yield of 2.387% at 7:05 am EDT, the 10-year Treasury up 02/32 to 101-12/32 for yield of 3.839% and the 30-year bond is up 03/32 to 100-20/32 for yield of 4.464%. Seeing little reaction to Barron's report the Treasury is growing increasingly likely to recapitalise Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Traders looking at today's report on National Association of Home Builders housing market index for August for clues on whether the battered property sector is starting to bottom out. PPI, Housing Starts reports tomorrow could move market.
