Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm
Based on Discovery Channel's popular reality series, Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm lets you virtually experience the life of a crab fisherman. You'll command one of five boats in the Bering Sea, dropping pots in order to catch crustaceans and make tons of cash. In addition to steering your boat through rough waves, you must also monitor your crew and make repairs to your vessel. It's a very involving and at times complex game, with numerous controls and menus to learn. We dig the slow moving but rewarding gameplay as well as the numerous video clips from the show, but the horrible frame rate, long load times and lackluster visuals keep Deadliest Catch from being the king of simulations. If you can look past its faults, however, we encourage you to plot a course to your nearest retailer.
