Reenergize Your Workplace
Employees seem stuck in a rut? Try taking them on an "idea excursion," such as going to a museum, doing improv, or having a scavenger hunt. I do this in my classes at DePaul’s business school as a way to help business executives step away from their work challenges, do a fun activity together, and perhaps see a different side of team members that can help them work more effectively together.
You’re also likely to be inspired by something you see or do on these excursions that you can bring back into your business. I recall a group from a housewares business that visited a natural history museum, observed some of the relics and props used by ancient cultures, and came up with some ideas for new kitchen products.
