Stocks Come Roaring Back

On Nov. 13, U.S. indexes ended a four-day slide on positive earnings news from Wal-Mart, an uptick in pending home sales, and lower oil prices

Tuesday marked a big comeback for U.S. equities after four days of staggering losses, with bargain hunters taking advantage of what many called substantially oversold conditions—i.e., that stocks had fallen too far. Gains for the Nasdaq composite index were its biggest in four and a half years.
