Companies are stepping up their environmental stewardship to lure eco-chic customers, slash operating costs, and, well, to fight global warming. They're launching pioneering green products (think Toyota's iconic hybrid Prius). And they're dedicating resources to green technology research and development; with its "ecoimagination" initiative, General Electric plans to invest $1.5 billion yearly in clean energy products and services by 2010, up 100% from 2005.
