European Indexes Finish Higher

Markets gained strength Friday as Wall Street reversed early weakness

London: The FTSE 100 closed strongly in the black, fired up by the energy and mining sectors. The BoE yesterday raised interest rates by 25bp to 5.75%. UK May industrial and manufacturing figures came in stronger than expected. The pound was trading at US$2.0128. Wall Street was trading higher, as M&A activity offset stronger-than-expected payrolls data.
