British Growth Remains Robust

While Action Economics expects further tightening to keep inflation in check, it sees growth remaining steady despite rising interest rates

At the halfway mark for 2007 we at Action Economics are boosting our assessment of economic growth in Great Britain. Despite larger-than-expected rate hikes, growth has remained robust and mostly in line with our expectations since the end of last year. However, further monetary tightening is expected to tame inflation in the medium term, and we believe growth is likely to slow slightly next year.
