Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of misfits arrive on the Xbox 360 in Eurocom's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. This simplistic beat-em-up game chronicles events from the upcoming film and its prequel Dead Man's Chest, bringing gamers up to speed with Sparrow's shenanigans. Similar to Microsoft's Crackdown, the option to collect items enhances the otherwise uninspired action, while the impressive graphics transport players to popular locales from the movies. Too bad the presentation doesn't measure up. Not only was Disney Interactive unable to sign Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley to voice their characters, but they also failed to score music from the films, instead settling for a soundtrack "inspired" by the movies. On top of that, an offline only co-op mode dashes any hopes of playing on Xbox Live. At World's End is better than most movie-based games, but that only makes its shortcomings more disappointing.
