I have a simple test for measuring the user-friendliness of an electronic device, be it a microwave, DVD player, or clock radio: setting the time. Ask anyone who has lived for months on end with 12:00 flashing at them. If this mundane task is a chore, chances are the rest of the device won't be easy to master either.
