EDUCATION: Has a PhD in finance from Purdue University. His thesis focused on the economics of consumer credit.

STOCK I LIKE: Precision Castparts (PCP ) "It manufactures complex metal components and products for aerospace and specialized industries. The stock is attractive, considering its 20% projected earnings per share growth and strong balance sheet."

NEWCOMER TO PORTFOLIO: (PCLN ) "Priceline has made smart acquisitions. It will continue to do well in Europe as well as in the U.S. because it has gone beyond the name-your-own-price model."

STOCKS I'VE AVOIDED: "We recently trimmed our consumer stocks due to a slowing economy. The companies we sold include AutoNation (AN ), Circuit City (CC ), and Black & Decker (BDK )."
