Amazon.com (AMZN) Posts $0.26 vs. $0.12 first quarter earnings per share (EPS) on a 32% sales rise. Sees second quarter sales of $2.7 billion to $2.85 billion and operating income of $65 million to $105 million, up 39% to 125%, and 2007 sales of $13.4 billion to $14 billion with operating income growth of 19% to 52%.
ABN Amro Holding (ABN) A consortium of banks led by the Royal Bank of Scotland took a shot at breaking up ABN Amro's agreed sale to Barclays by making a contingent offer valued at about $103.75 billion, higher than Barclay's offer, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Western Union (WU) Posts $0.25 vs. $0.29 first quarter EPS as higher costs offset an 8.4% revenue rise. Believes 2007 revenue growth will be in the 10% to 11% range, down from previous guidance of 11% to 13%.
Sun Microsystems (SUNW) Posts $0.02 third quarter EPS vs. $0.06 loss on a 3.3% revenue rise. Sees a fourth quarter sequential revenue rise of 15% to 18%.
WellPoint (WLP) Posts $1.26 vs. $1.09 first quarter EPS on 9.0% higher revenue. Sees $1.35 second quarter EPS and $5.54 in 2007.
RF Micro Devices (RFMD) Posts $0.14 fourth quarter GAAP EPS vs. $0.01 loss on a 14% revenue rise. Sees first quarter revenue of $215 million to $230 million and GAAP EPS of breakeven to $0.02.
Waddell & Reed (WDR) Posts lower-than expected $0.35 vs. $0.30 first quarter EPS on a 9.5% total operating revenue rise.
