Fallon Has Inside Track on Landing Volvo

Volvo Cars, which is in the middle of a review for its $150 million-$200 million global ad account, dropped incumbent Euro RSCG from the review. Also eliminated was Omnicom's Amsterdam's agency 180.

That leaves Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and Havas's Arnold Worldwide, which has teamed up with London agency Nitro. Volvo is expcted to decide later this month.

But here is the catch. Arnold, according to well-placed sources is also pitching Hyundai Motor America. And the Hyundai review could be decided before the Volvo review concludes. The Hyundai pitch is U.S. only. But Arnold could not win both accounts.

It's pretty unconventional for an agency to pitch two accounts at once. Goodby Silverstein dropped out of the Volvo pitch in order to pursue Hyundai. Fallon also said No to Hyundai to pursue Volvo.
