Treasuries Finish Mixed

Trading was cautious ahead of Bernanke's testimony and retail sales data Wednesday

3:25 pm EST... Treasuries closed mixed amid cautious trading ahead of retail sales data and testimony to the Congress from Fed Chairman Bernanke tomorrow... 10-year note slipped 01/32 to 98-18/32 for a yield of 4.81%... 30-year bond fell 06/32 to 97-22/32 for a yield of 4.90%... Meanwhile, one-month, three-month and six-month Treasury bills rose slightly... The December trade deficit of $61.2B was wider than expected but had no apparent impact on bonds... Equities were trading higher as the bond market closed... Crude oil futures rebounded handily from a hefty sell-off Monday, while gold futures rose slightly.
