Diddy Kong Racing

Another Nintendo 64 racing game makes the jump to the Nintendo DS. Rare's Diddy Kong Racing DS transports all the excessively cute and whimsical racing action from the original—but also brings several problems with it as well. The whole collection theme grows tiring, with players having to repeat races to find items to proceed. The DS-exclusive enhancements don't help either, and end up being pointless. The multiplayer options should reel in fans of the original N64 game, but nothing here tops what the year-and-a-half old Mario Kart DS already accomplished.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
