Tyco Posts Higher Earnings
Tyco (TYC) posted 39 cents vs. 27 cents first quarter EPS on a 7.6% revenue rise. The company sees second quarter revenue growth of 6% to 7% and operating margin excluding special items of 12.5% to 13.0%. It expects its separation into three publicly traded companies to occur early in the second quarter of calendar year 2007.
Anadarko Petroleum (APC) posted $4.13 vs. $1.87 fourth quarter earnings per share (EPS) (GAAP) on 66% higher revenue. Anadarko notes fourth quarter 2006 EPS includes a $3.80 gain from the sale of the company's Canadian unit.
UAL (UAUA) reports its highest-ever January passenger load factor of 78% (preliminary) for Jan. 2007; total scheduled revenue rose by 2% on a capacity increase of 1.6% in scheduled available seat miles.
Automatic Data Processing (ADP) posted 51 cents vs. 44 cents second quarter EPS on a 14% revenue rise. The company reaffirms the high end of its fiscal year 2007 EPS from continuing operations growth forecast of 17% to 20%, up from $1.85 in fiscal year 2006.
Avon Products (AVP) posted 41 cents vs. 40 cents fourth quarater EPS on a 9.4% sales rise.
Mentor Corp.(MNT) posted 36 cents vs. 25 cents third quarter non-GAAP EPS from continuing operations on a 19% sales rise. The company sees $305 million to $315 million fiscal year 2007 sales, and operating margin from continuing operations as a percentage of net sales in the low 20s. It expects comp expense of 15 cents to 17 cents per share.
CMS Energy (CMS) is to sell its CMS Generation unit to Abu Dhabi National Energy for $900 million.

Las Vegas Sands (LVS) posted 37 cents vs. 33 cents fourth quarter adjusted EPS on a 27% revenue rise. Sands posted 32 cents vs. 31 cents GAAP EPS.
