Stocks Sink amid Earnings, Rate Worries

Solid profits from eBay, Nokia, and others weren't enough to buoy the market. Bond yields climbed to five-month highs

Stocks finished broadly lower Thursday, ending a two-day rally, as Wall Street focused on what has so far been a moderately disappointing earnings season. Bond yields rose, fanning worries about higher interest rates, despite a softer-than-expected report on existing home sales.
