Reconsidering What it Takes to Start a Company

I missed Tom Evslin's very thoughtful post earlier this week on why it costs more to start up a company now than had previously been thought. His take: despite the fact that capital costs are lower, because the market is getting more crowded, standing out as a startup costs more. The discussion continues with another post. (And Fred Wilson, who started this thread, says what hasn't been taken into account is operations costs after you get going.)
