Democrats' electoral gains may pressure drug stocks, but S&P thinks investor worries are overblown and keeps a positive outlook on the sector

Will Democrats' success in the 2006 midterm elections prove Big Pharma's undoing? After the party's big gains on Nov. 7 in both houses of Congress, many investors decided that the environment was less favorable for major drug companies. Many of the shares in the sector were weak on Nov. 8.
