Election Day as seen from Afghanistan

Stephen Baker

I went to Military.com to see how soldiers, sailors and Marines view the changes in Congress and the Pentagon. It's a great site, with all kinds of blogs and columns from Iraq and Afghanistan. While there, I found this sailor's blog from Afghanistan. This post has lots of great pictures of what he sees and experiences there. Take a look.

Incidentally, the seven-year-old Military.com is one of the top 10 most trafficked new sites on the Web. It has 8 million members. Two years ago, the founder, Chris Michel, sold it to Monster.com. This might sound strange, but it's a natural fit. The military is full of people who want to know about job opportunities when deciding whether to re-enlist. And for employers, the military is a fertile recruiting ground.
