Here are the races to watch to get an early sense of whether or not the Democrats will succeed in taking the House and Senate

With Republicans bracing for setbacks in today's midterm elections, it could be late in the night before we know which party will control the House of Representatives and Senate. In the House, Democrats only need to win one-third of the most competitive races (at least 15 of 48 vulnerable Republican seats) to take back the chamber from the GOP. Senate Democrats must capture six of the eight tightest races to regain the Senate after four years in Republican hands.
