A "Green" Light for 2007 Rate Hikes?

The Fed's September Green Book, reflecting the Sept. 20 FOMC meeting, implies the central bank may raise rates sooner rather than later

While the Federal Reserve is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged at its Oct. 24-25 policy meeting, what about the months ahead? After the Fed's pause in interest rate hikes in the last half of 2006, were players in the Fed funds futures market correct in assuming the central bank would begin cutting rates in 2007?
