Anadarko Cuts Its Northern Exposure

The oil and gas outfit's sale of its Canadian subsidary for $4 billion will help pay for its recent acquistiton spree

Anadarko Petroleum (APC) on Sept. 14 said it agreed to sell its subsidiary Anadarko Canada to Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ). The Houston oil and gas company is refocusing its operations and cutting down debt following its acquisitions of Kerr-McGee and Western Gas Resources in August. The deal is expected to close by the end of October.
