A different kind of work on vacation

Why is it that vacations feel like work? Even though I barely turned on this computer in our week on the Jersey shore, each day was filled with challenges and fears. There were the nagging worries about a piece of uncreamed flesh frying in the sun, or mosquitos flocking in through an open screen door. But the greatest challenge for me: Wrestling the hook out of the wildly wriggling sand shark my kid caught. Turns out you twist and twist, even if it means tearing a hole in the poor beast's cheek. Compared to that, blogging's a breeze.
