Amy Barrett has been the Philadelphia bureau chief for BusinessWeek for the past nine years, covering companies including pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. Barrett previously did stints in the Los Angeles and Washington bureaus covering a variety of finance topics. You'll be seeing more of her byline soon. With our next issue, Barrett becomes part of the SmallBiz team, leaving the pharma beat to cover entrepreneurs full-time. She lives outside Philadelphia with her husband and two daughters.

Ernest Beck covered politics and business for The Wall Street Journal while based in Budapest and London. Back in his native New York, where he lives with his wife, Beck is a freelance writer and frequent contributor to publications including The New York Times and Worth magazine. Besides having an abiding interest in all things green, he writes about art and design and recently edited a book about a mysterious Brancusi sculpture in Romania.

New York-based photographer Roger Hagadone is a frequent contributor to BusinessWeek and other publications. Between his editorial and advertising assignments, he is at work on a photography book about the Champagne region of France. His fine art photographs are held in several collections in the U.S. and Europe. Hagadone lives in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.
