The Ins and Outs of Freebie Diplomacy

Sometimes, clients' requests for "favors" can pay off in goodwill and future business. But it pays to have a policy and to stick to it

I'm a female consultant. I occasionally have long-time clients call up asking me to do "a favor" for them. I do sometimes do minor work without pay for good clients, but I'm never sure where to draw the line or exactly how to respond to these requests. Any advice?
