Treasury Prices Lower Ahead of Bernanke Speech

MARKETSCOPE : Treasury bond prices fell on Wednesday ahead of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's speech.

The 10-year Treasury notes were yielding 5.15% at noon Eastern Daylight Time from 5.11% at Tuesday's close. Yields rise when prices fall.

Fed Chairman Bernanke begins speaking on "Revitalizing Communities" at noon.

News hit that Factory Orders surged 4.2% in March after rising a revised 0.4% in February. The April Institute for Supply Management service index climbed to 63.0 in April from 60.5 in March, as activity accelerated from an already strong pace early in the year.
